The First Annual ShowMeSTOC of 2008
Even though Doug Fowler (STOC6366) wasn't able to attend his own rally we made the most
of it anyway. Good times at our visit to the cannon range at Ft. Leonard Wood. Greeted by Capt. Mike "Crunch" Sadler
and Sgt. Bill Anderson, they gave us an up close and personal view of the daily rigors at the practice range. It is here
that the military A-10's as well as other aircraft perform their combat training operations. We were most impressed
by the experience of watching (and listening to a larger degree) the 30mm Gatling gun on the A-10.
We also have to thank Chuck Cousins (4Iner) for his roll as he was instrumental in setting this up for us.
I was able to take a few pictures and shoot a few minutes of video. I'll have to
apologize ahead of time for the poor quality. The rain had a lot to do with that.
The picture of the gentleman wearing the yellow Dewalt jacket is a WWII veteran. His name is Mr. Cook(sp?).
He was stationed as a guard in Nagasaki after the big one was dropped. He loves to visit and shoot the breeze.
It is easy to tell all of the men appreciate him as he left with many gifts.
There was this one cat (Catt) I just keep thinking about...
I made him an appointment with my psychiatrist. He is enjoying life way too much.
